Corporate Responsibility

ThyssenKrupp aims to make a positive contribution to the communities in which its employees work and live by supporting a wide range of charitable, educational and environmental initiatives. ThyssenKrupp companies have established philanthropic partnerships with their communities and actively work with local leaders to determine how best to utilize resources for the common good of the community.

Supporting schools and education, art and culture as well as humanitarian aid are among the areas ThyssenKrupp traditionally addresses as part of its responsibility to society. At the same time the company is strengthening its commitment to raising acceptance of technology and innovation among the general public, as it believes technology should benefit people and improve their future.

Select ThyssenKrupp’s Corporate Responsibility Initiatives in the United States:

  • ThyssenKrupp U.S. employees’ invested free time, vacations and funds to assist those affected by Hurricane Katrina. The “Convoy of Compassion,” consisted of five company-owned tractor trailers carrying 75 tons of employee-provided relief supplies, to Louisiana and Mississippi in the wake of the storm.
  • ThyssenKrupp made a significant contribution to the 9/11 relief efforts through the United Way for which it is a Corporate Sponsor.
