    10/16/07 – MOBILE, ALABAMA – ThyssenKrupp Steel USA, LLC today announced that SMS Demag AG was awarded a contract to construct two critical elements of the $3.7 billion steel and stainless steel processing facility planned for Calvert, AL. SMS Demag will build both the facility’s hot strip mill and cold rolling complex. Installation is expected to begin in early 2009.

    07/03/07 – TROY, MICHIGAN – ThyssenKrupp Steel and Stainless USA, LLC, today announced that Thompson Engineering, Inc., of Mobile, Alabama, was awarded a contract to conduct geotechnical testing in the site area of its $3.7 billion steel and stainless steel processing facility planned for Calvert, Alabama.

    05/11/07 - TROY, MICHIGAN - ThyssenKrupp today announced that it has selected Alabama as the home for its new state-of-the-art steel and stainless steel processing facility. The facility, a cooperative effort between ThyssenKrupp Steel and ThyssenKrupp Stainless, will be located in Northern Mobile and Southern Washington counties. The decision was approved this morning by ThyssenKrupp AG’s Supervisory Board during its meeting in Düsseldorf, Germany.
