03/08/07 - TROY, MICHIGAN – ThyssenKrupp Steel and Stainless USA, LLC, the newly formed entity to develop and operate ThyssenKrupp’s planned $2.9 billion facility in the Southern U.S., today announced the launch of a new web site dedicated to sharing information with stakeholders and the general public. Last month, ThyssenKrupp announced that it is proceeding with the development of a new state-of-the-art steel and stainless steel manufacturing and processing facility in either Alabama or Louisiana.

The new plant complex, which is expected to begin operations in 2010, is considered to be one of the largest private industrial development projects in the United States over the next decade. During construction, the facility will create upwards of 29,000 jobs. When it is fully operational, the plant will employ 2,700 people.

The company was created to oversee the development of a new $2.9 billion facility which is a cooperative effort of ThyssenKrupp Steel and ThyssenKrupp Stainless, both based in Duisburg, Germany.
